PETS-N-PARTNERS 4-H CLUB MISSION STATEMENT AND BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES FOR 4-H MEMBERS AND PARENTS
Pets-n-Partners 4-H Club was established to promote a strong foundation for lifelong learning, inspiration, motivation, empowering and challenging our 4-H members to become informed and productive citizens, to become familiar with the proper care and training of animals and to develop knowledge in any other project that the 4-H member may participate in.
GUIDELINES
Treat all members and advisors of your club, and all 4-H clubs, with respect. If more than 5 absences you will not receive your premiums for that year. Training is part of your project. Parents, remember this is the 4-H member’s project and their responsibility to learn to train and groom their animal. You may assist them or seek help from an advisor. PLEASE DO NOT TRAIN OR GROOM THEIR PROJECT FOR THEM. Each year we will hold fund raisers for part of our 4-H club activities. Non-participation will result in paying your own way. While showing your project, dress to impress. No t-shirts, shirts that are revealing, skirt or dress that are shorter than knee in length and no jeans of any type. If you have long hair make sure it is pulled back and bangs are out of the eyes. Proper hygiene is a MUST. No gum chewing while training. Keep your animals properly vaccinated (in accordance with the State of Ohio 4-H Department). If participating in a dog project, the 4-H members must attend training sessions.
There will be zero tolerance of unethical or unsportsmanlike behavior towards other people.
Treat your own and other animal(s) with kindness and respect.
Use proper equipment while training and showing your project.
Proper shoes; no sandals, no open front or back shoes or no flip-flops.
No electronic devices are to be used while training; cell phones, walkmans, I-Pod type devices or anything else that may distract you or other members.
No more then 5 absences will be excused to participate in State Fair Selection or the Darke County Fair.
You can make up missed training sessions by calling the head advisor and making arrangements with them at the advisor’s convenience.
